(Photo by Nujaree Raekrun)NAKHON SI THAMMARAT – More than 42,000 bottles of cough syrup, a controlled medicine that can be used for concocting illicit drugs, were seized from a warehouse in Chawang district on Friday morning. A team comprising police and soldiers searched the warehouse in tambon Jandee after a tip-off a very large amount of cough syrup was being stored there. Soranan Kuropakornpong, 27, admitted to being the owner of the 42,324 bottles of cough syrup, packed in 340 100-bottle boxes, 16 12-bottle boxes, 154 black plastic bags and a mixture of other containers. The cough syrup is a controlled medication prohibited for sale to people under 17 years old.
